THE ANIMAL CONNECTION
Opioid drugs are now the leading cause of death for American adults under 55 yrs old, as of 2018. (The NY Times, Nov, 29, 2018)
The Animal Connection is a 501c3 non-profit group employing an innovative therapy program designed to treat drug addiction and advanced PTSD. Our program targets the primal brain modules at the root of behavior reconditioning. We co-join Wolf Therapy™ and wild mustang equine therapy with hypnosis, or hypnotherapy, along with life coaching techniques and mindful therapy training for stress and anger management. Our mission is to combine cutting edge, peer-reviewed, clinical-trial-tested therapies that are exhibiting an exciting growing success rate in advancing addiction science: the treatment of drug, gambling, smoking, and food addictions, as well as PTSD, chiefly among veterans and other victims of trauma. Presently, our focus is on combating the code-red opioid crisis in Indiana, reducing community violence and the exploding number of babies born addicted to heavy drugs. Indiana ranks 7th, drug crisis, most extreme among our 50 states. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention rank Indiana 13th in overdose deaths, 15th in opioid overdoses.
Shane Is a volunteer speaker for addicts in our program and a sober coach. Shane sports the Indiana State record for fastest flag horse racing competition, one that is big purse money and large arena popular in many areas that ride primarily Western horse back. After his exceptional state record was achieved…he fell into the opioid hole from a grand father dying of cancer who had an abundance of heavy opioids. Shane is now off illegal drugs at 27 years old, and plans to continue his Western riding sport winning success. Shane is available for private sober coaching.
Our program:
Our program follows the new evidence-based therapy model, which confronts the complexity of substance abuse & trauma/PTSD patients using a continuum of holistic and non-confrontational techniques. This approach has proven to be more effective than traditional approaches – which traditionally focuses comprehensively on the cessation of drug abuse and/or PTSD trauma, rather than addressing the patient’s tangential problems, e.g., career difficulties and other life and environmental stressors which lead to prolonged substance abuse and aggravate PTSD. By holistically factoring in the patient’s entire lifestyle within the design, our therapy team is able to provide an innovative treatment structure that helps ensure that the patient’s behavioral changes are realistically sustainable.
“Your Wolf Therapy program sounds really promising. Most addicts have lost all of their bonds…their friends, family, career.”
Steve Westphal - Commander of the Narcotics department of the Michigan City police department.
HOW it works
Our program is designed to jolt the struggling areas of the addicts, and PTSD victims brain to start awakening the neuron synapses that create functionality in that area. For example, the brain module that has turned “thick” and deadened, so to speak is the dorsal anterior cingulate cortex, which controls attention and superior decision making. Wolf therapy TM & Wild Mustang awaken and spark the weakened anterior cignalte cortex, so that the Hypnosis and our other therapies, life coaching, cognitive behavioral therapy can actually sink in and absorbed, as the brain is now awake and alert, or functionally optimally for traditional therapy.
There is no better tool for stress and anxiety reduction than Hypnosis and meditation skills. When traditional talk or CBT therapy only addresses the conscious mind, hypnosis and meditation address the subconscious mind, where all our behavior programing lies. Hence hypnosis seals in the conscious talk therapy, into the deeper part of the brain – the unconscious. Our program in group hypnosis, begins to reprogram the subconscious mind to change it’s behavioral associations to drugs addiction, anxiety, phobias and fears, stress and anger management. Think of Hypnosis and meditation as anger and stress management taught skills, 2.0.
